Ascencion Bay

We went for Permit, and got none alas. Had shots most days, but no cigar. Plenty of fish though, adding snook and tarpon to the long list of bonefish.....

Ascension Bay coming up

My second trip to Ascension Bay will be under way in just 2 weeks time: I'll be meeting up with my excellent, kind and highly skilled fishing friend Don Sappington, maker of my favourite bonefishing rod, the subject of a future post.

Don and I will be fishing Boca Paila, a few miles from the flats at Pesca Maya where I fished last year - we are both desperate to get a Permit, photographic evidence of which I hope to appear here soon.
